Mounting
Mat boards
Mat boards play a crucial role in the presentation and preservation of artwork. At our gallery, we prioritise the use of museum-grade mat boards, which are crafted from the finest 100% cotton fibres and adhere to the stringent specifications set by the Fine Art Trade Guild. These mat boards are specifically designed to provide optimal protection and longevity to your valuable artwork.
One of the key features of our museum-grade mat boards is their natural acid and lignin-free composition. This ensures that the mat boards won't deteriorate or cause any discoloration to your artwork over time. Additionally, the mat boards are buffered with calcium carbonate, which helps to maintain a stable environment and prevent any potential damage caused by fluctuations in humidity or acidity.
Our commitment to using quality-certified materials means that your artwork is safeguarded against common issues such as fading, yellowing, and degradation. By using these high-quality mat boards, we aim to prolong the life of your artwork, preserving its original beauty and ensuring its longevity for future generations to appreciate.
When it comes to mounting options, we offer two popular and versatile choices: float mounting and window mounting. Float mounting involves securing the artwork in a way that allows a small gap between the artwork and the mat board, creating a visually striking effect where the artwork appears to be "floating" within the frame. Window mounting, on the other hand, involves creating a precise opening in the mat board that frames the artwork, enhancing its visual impact.
Both float mounting and window mounting not only provide protection to your artwork but also enhance its presentation. These mounting options are carefully selected to accentuate the beauty and uniqueness of each individual artwork. Our experts are available to guide you through the process and recommend the best presentation options for your specific artwork, ensuring that it receives the attention and presentation it deserves.
At our gallery, we believe that high-quality mounting options not only safeguard your artwork but also add value to your work. We understand the importance of preserving and displaying your artwork in the best possible way, and we are dedicated to providing the expertise and resources necessary to achieve that goal.
Dry-mounting
Dry-mounting is a popular method for mounting artworks, and at our gallery, we offer a range of reliable and high-quality dry-mounting solutions. We utilize materials such as Kappa mount, Dibond, and foamcore to ensure excellent results.
Kappa mount is our most popular dry-mounting option. It is a lightweight foam board with polyurethane composition, featuring aluminium-reinforced liners and chromo board cover layers. This combination results in a rigid and durable mounting surface, ideal for digital prints and photographs. The Kappa mount provides a super smooth surface, enhancing the visual impact of your artworks and ensuring a professional presentation.
In addition to Kappa mount, we also offer Dibond and foam-core as dry-mounting options. Dibond is a composite material consisting of two thin aluminium sheets sandwiching a solid polyethylene core. This combination creates a lightweight yet sturdy mounting surface with excellent durability. Foamcore, on the other hand, is a foam-centered board that is lightweight and easy to handle while still providing stability for your artworks.
Our knowledgeable staff is well-versed in the intricacies of dry-mounting and can guide you in selecting the most suitable option for your specific artwork. They can advise you on the best method to achieve a smooth surface, ensuring that your artwork is presented flawlessly.
Dry-mounting offers numerous benefits, including preventing wrinkles, creases, and other surface imperfections, as well as providing stability and protection to your artworks. By utilizing high-quality materials and professional techniques, we strive to deliver outstanding dry-mounting results that will enhance the overall appearance and longevity of your artworks.
Please don't hesitate to consult our staff for more information on our dry-mounting options and to discuss the best approach for your artworks.
